Q: Where are the classes run?
The classes are held in Slievemore Clinic, Old Dublin Road, Stillorgan, and also in Firhouse Community & Leisure Centre, Ballycullen Drive, Firhouse.

Q: How long do the classes last?
The course is ran over 4 weeks, and each class lasts approx 1 hour to 1 & 1/2 hours.

Q: What do I need to bring?
Yourself and baby! Also anything else that you feel you may need throughout the class eg. nappies, bottles, blanket etc.

Q:What should my baby wear?
Something comfortable, such as a nappy, vest & babygro. While doing the massage you can undress your baby as much as you like. Some people like to just undress the part that is being massaged, and some like to undress the baby fully. Whatever you and your baby feel comfortable with.

Q: What should I wear?
Something comfortable also, as the massage class is held while sitting on cushions on the floor.

Q: What if my baby is crying during the class?
Crying babies should not be massaged, as they are trying to communicate that they may not want a massage right now. They may be hungry, tired, need a nappy change etc., and you are free to tend to any of your babies needs.
Babies often cry during massage class, and it is actually encouraged, as crying is babies way of releasing tension, and is seen as a positive aspect of massage.

Q: How will i remember all the massage strokes?
The massage strokes are thought slowly, and repeated several times. At the end of each class you will be given handouts with diagrams explaining all of the massage strokes learnt in that class.

Q: What age babies attend the class?
The best age for babies to attend the class is from 6 weeks, to pre-crawlers, however they are welcome to attend from birth. From 6 weeks, babies are more open to being massaged, and also more likely to be awake during the class. If your baby is asleep during the class, you can follow the strokes in the class, by practising on a doll that I will provide. Also the class is best suited for up to the age of pre-crawlers, as most of the massage strokes are taught with the baby lying on their back or front, and so if a baby is crawling it can be hard to keep them still.

Q: Can I claim back any of the cost?
Most health care providers provide a refund of €100. Please read here for further details.
